How Chat-Mate handles your data.

1. Data we process

• Message content. Chat-Mate reads server messages to learn placement patterns (which channel a message belongs in). Patterns are stored as aggregate statistics — counts, keywords, and confidence scores — not as message logs. We do not keep a copy of your messages.
• Per-server configuration. Settings you choose: watched channels, roles, function toggles, cleanup schedules, and training judgments. Stored so the bot and its dashboard remember how you set things up.
• DM passes and Ask-to-DM records. Grant records, pending requests, denials, and per-user allowlists (user IDs, target IDs, timestamps, expiry). Kept only to deliver the feature you asked for.

2. What we never do

• We never sell your data — no message content, no user lists, nothing — to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else.
• We never share message content with third parties. Aggregate, non-identifying statistics stay on our own infrastructure.
• We never store raw message text. Pattern learning happens in memory; what persists are the learned statistics.

3. Data retention and deletion

Configuration and pass/request records persist until you change or remove them. On request (email Shane.GopherGo@gmail.com) we will delete your server's data, or an individual user's records, and confirm once it's done.

4. Who sees what

Chat-Mate's dashboard requires you to sign in with Discord and only shows you servers where you have the Manage Server permission. Function toggles and the admin console are restricted per server by your own Discord permissions.

5. Children

Chat-Mate is not directed at children under 13, and Discord's own terms already require users to be at least 13.

6. Changes

We may update this policy as Chat-Mate evolves. Significant changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date below.
